Rice cereal...

We started rice cereal last week. Needless to say it was NOT a hit with the Kittle babies! I think the pictures will speak for themselves.....

Here G and EC are the first time we put them in their high chairs...

And here we are last Saturday morning.... I wanted to do the first rice cereal feeding while Eric was home in case I needed help. You never know how these "new things" are going to go over with one baby much less two babies so always have a back up person there to help!

I don't think Graham was a big fan of the spoon....

Or maybe it was the rice cereal.....it doesn't smell too great!

It's getting a little better now. I thickened it up and they seem to like it a lot more now. EC is even opening her mouth ready for her next bite....

32 years old....

That's how old this hat and bonnet are that EC is wearing. They were mine. So, we took a few pictures of course.

Advice.

Eric's aunt forwarded this to me and it was too great not to share! And oh so true!
1. The more time and effort put into decorating a nursery, the more likely that the baby will sleep in your room.
2. Things that don't wake a sleeping newborn: loud noises and bright lights. Things that do wake a sleeping newborn: sitting down to eat dinner.
3. Maybe they'll say it's the eyes. Maybe they'll say it's the mouth. Whatever it is, people will insist on telling you that your newborn looks like you. It's almost never true.
4. You may not want to cut your baby's nails because you are afraid of making her bleed. However, if you don't cut your baby's nails, she will probably scratch herself and, then, she'll bleed. So, why postpone the inevitable?
5. There is no greater thrill than the first time a baby calls out "mama" or "dada," even when it is directed toward the cat.
6. Sleeping a lot and eating a lot are traits highly cherished in babies. Unfortunately, neither are particularly admired in adults.
7. As a new parent, strangers will often approach you to ask, "Is she a good baby?" Surprise them by saying, "No, she's kind of an #$$hole."
8. You will discover that there must have been something very, very tricky about composing a melody for "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star," The ABC's," and "Baa Baa Black Sheep."
9. From the moment you arrive home from the hospital, you will be asked if your baby sleeps through the night. Tell them you don't know. Tell them you spend most nights out clubbing.
10. Make sure you learn all the noises that farm animals make. Even though most people no longer live on farms, the sounds that sheep, pigs and cows make are priority number one when teaching your little one to talk.
11. If she is wearing a nice outfit, it is likely that your baby will poop.
12. If you are wearing a nice outfit, it is likely that your baby will poop.
13. Despite advances in science, no one has figured out how to diagnose a dirty diaper besides sniffing at it or peeking in it. When you're in public, learn to do this discreetly.
14. Never in your wildest dreams (or worst nightmares) did you ever imagine how much you would be talking about poop. Unless you work for a laxative company. If you work for a laxative company, you are probably already talking about poop a lot.
15. Strangers are friendly when you're with with a baby. That said, strangers are even friendlier when you're with a puppy.
16. One of the surprise perks of having a baby? When you're with one, you can talk to yourself out loud and people don't look at you like you're crazy.
17. Everyone tells you to "sleep when the baby's sleeping." It's good advice. But, remember, it's "sleep when the baby's sleeping... unless the baby fell asleep in the car and you're driving."
18. Don't beat yourself up over every little thing. Babies have really low expectations.
19. If you think you might be posting too many pictures on Facebook, you probably are.
20. No matter how much you love your child, naptime is never long enough.
21. When people come to visit in the first weeks after you come home from the hospital, remember they are there to see you and the baby. Remember they don't expect you or your house to look perfect. And remember, if you are talking anywhere near the baby monitor, there's a good chance they can hear you.
22. The secret to being a good parent? There isn't one. Anyone who tells you otherwise is lying.
23. When all else fails, if you can't stop your baby from crying, turn on some music and dance around the living room. Even if the crying doesn't stop, at least you'll enjoy yourself.

Sibling Love.....

Over the last few weeks G and EC have really started noticing each other... They reach for each other and smile at each other. Well, mostly Graham...I think EC pretends he doesn't exist. They are hilarious and keep me laughing every day.

Total Knock Out!

No matter where they are Graham constantly has to have his hand on Evie Claire

The other morning I laid them in the floor parallel to each other. I turned around to get my coffee and found them like this. At one point Evie Claire actually had Graham in a choke hold with her legs....

EC found her feet this week....she is showing them to mommy....

And now she is showing them to Graham....

Like I said, he loves to touch her....

I told Eric they other night they are just so sweet!! I hope they grow up and stay best friends and live next door to each other....a mom can dream can't she?

What a difference a year makes....

One year ago today Eric and I found out we were having twins! I remember it so vividly....what I was wearing, what Eric was wearing....we went to eat breakfast at Panera afterwards...I had a chocolate chip bagel and I couldn't even finish it because I was so excited and nervous! Then I went to the mall and bought my first maternity shirt because I knew I would start showing quickly! It was so overwhelming and exciting at the same time!!

Here is a picture of Graham and Evie Claire from June 14, 2011! Affectionately known as Baby A and Baby B then!

And here they are today!!! Exactly one year to the date later and 5 months old!

One year ago today I never knew my life could change this much or that I was capable of loving 2 people so unconditionally! They make me smile everyday and fill mine and Eric's lives with so much joy! And on June 14, 2013 I won't be able to get a picture of them together because I am sure they will be ALL OVER the place in 2 opposite directions!

Happy 5 Months!

Graham:
You are smiling and laughing daily
You are rolling over (from your back to your tummy)- I even found you on your stomach one morning in your bed.
You are holding your head up
You are pushing up when laying on your tummy
You love for me to read to you and love looking at the pictures in the books
You are reaching for objects
You have started noticing EC a lot more and reaching for her and smiling at her.

Evie Claire:
You are laughing a lot more
You are very ticklish underneath your chin
You are holding your head up
You are pushing up when laying on your tummy
You are starting to roll over (from your back to your tummy)
You are reaching for objects
You have found your voice and squeal very loudly

My Little Model...

I ordered this hat for Evie Claire when I was pregnant. Then she was so little it didn't fit. Then I forgot about it. Anyway....here are a few I took before it becomes to little....

Graham's in the Game...

Put me in coach....Graham is lifting his head...as of today!

I know you have all be waiting for it....well, maybe the 2 or 3 people who read this but we have been anxiously awaiting Graham lifting his head...big news at the Kittle house. He did it today.....well, he did it well today....he has been trying for some time now but just hasn't boosted himself up off the ground enough to do it. I was such a proud momma..... What's next? College?.....

I think he is shocked himself.....

The Park...Again

I hate to use the word "stuck" when it comes to staying at home but I kind of am stuck at home through the week. A lot of days I think how easy one baby would be to just pick up and run errands, etc. I would't trade having twins for anything...it's just harder. I can't even run to the grocery store with them. I could sit one down in the grocery cart and one up top but then where would I put my groceries??? Anyway it's just easier to run errands alone when Eric is home at night or someone can watch the babies during the day and not get them out.  So when Eric is home on the weekends he is wonderful about getting out with us. Saturday was such a beautiful day we decided to go over to Heritage Park....our new hang out spot apparently. Eric and I both said on the car ride home we can't wait for G and EC to start doing things....like sitting up so we can go to the zoo or the aquarium...they just can't really do anything right now but it's still nice to get out and is a nice change of scenery for them! Anyone who knows me knows that I pretty much take my camera everywhere we go....I document EVERYTHING!

I love seeing my boys together. Eric can make Graham laugh and smile more than anyone!

Eric was so excited when we found out one of the babies was a boy but I knew as soon as this little girl was born he would be wrapped around her finger.....and she LOVES her daddy!

Graham got a new baseball hat....

Evie Claire enjoyed her time out in the shade as well...

And a few with mom to end the day!
