6 Months in....

I just realized I haven't posted anything this month! 6 months is supposed to be big milestones in the life of babies but nothing too terribly exciting has really been going on. G and EC are growing more everyday and doing lots more things. Graham has become a pro at rolling over and holding his head up and of course smiling at all the ladies. EC is working on sitting up. She can sit if she is supported so I am thinking it won't be too long before she is sitting on her own. I so look forward to the day they are both sitting up and can play and interact with each other more.

We started solid food. Squash was up first on the list....You can see it was a big hit! And more went onto their face then in their mouth!

They actually really like food now. We have tried squash, carrots, sweet potatoes, pears, apples, peaches, prunes and bananas. So far the favorites are sweet potatoes, peaches and pears I believe! Graham LOVES food. I am pretty sure he would eat a fish stick right now if I gave him one! As soon as I sit him in his high chair he opens his mouth and gets excited.

Graham found his feet and spends most of his time now trying to get them in his mouth. He has been pretty successful.....

They are also enjoying this little jumper. I put it in the doorway of the office so I can work on my photography and have them close by.

Evie Claire is working on sitting up. And putting EVERYTHING in her mouth!

Graham finally rolling over and pushing up.

Evie Claire and I went to a baby shower for my friend, Leah who had twin boys last month!!!

So, all in all maybe it has been a pretty exciting and busy month!

And some chunkiness has invaded their little bodies! Makes me so happy to see them "healthy" and big!

At our 6 month check up out doctor was extremely happy about their weight. They are still small for their age which is hard to fathom because they look so big to me! But they are growing so much every day!! Graham is up to 16 lbs 2 oz and EC is at 14 lbs 8.5 oz!! So hard to believe that half of a year has flown by!! I am looking forward to the next half of a year and all the fun that fall, Thanksgiving and Christmas will bring!!

Happy 6 Months!

The last 6 months of my life have been the fastest 6 months ever!! Time is really flying by! Happy 1/2 Birthday Graham and Evie Claire! You make me and daddy smile and laugh more everyday!! You are truly such a blessing!!!

Graham:
You are rolling over (back to stomach) and we find you like that a lot of mornings.
You are pushing up on your stomach and lifting your head
You are blowing bubbles with your mouth
You are making noises with your mouth
You are starting to find your voice
You started rice cereal and hated the spoon at first but now you love the cereal, so much that you keep your mouth open while I am feeding EC
You will not take a pacifier..unless you are going to sleep

Evie Claire:
You are constantly rolling over onto your stomach and kicking your legs....daddy says you are swimming
You have found your feet and grab them constantly
You have found your voice and are squealing VERY loudly. Graham stares at you when you do this.
You are a great sleeper and will fall asleep anywhere.
You started rice cereal and are not a big fan of it.
You went swimming for the first time and LOVED it

Evie Claire, the last 6 months you have been a pure joy to be around. You are so content and just go with the flow. Your little personality has shown through on so many occasions. You don't give your smiles or laughs to just anyone but when you do they melt my heart. You might be tiny, but you are definitely going to be feisty. I can't wait to see what the next 6 months have in store!

Graham, for the last 6 months you have been the happiest baby! You smile at everyone and have never met a stranger. You have all the women in your life wrapped around your finger! You are such a sweet boy and love to cuddle. I am so excited to watch you grow and look forward to all the smiles you will bring in the next 6 months!

Pool Time.

It finally happened. We went to Grand mommy's on Sunday evening to let the babies "swim." Successful for EC, not successful for Graham. As soon as Eric put him in his raft he started crying.....He apparently decided he was sleepy and pool time was not for him! He quickly fell asleep on Grand mommy's chest. EC on the other hand LOVED the water. She kicked and splashed and layed back on her float like the queen she is!!

Every pool diva needs a hat and a pair of sunglasses to match her bathing suit....

Graham might not have enjoyed the water but at least he looked the part! Thank you Nolan for letting us borrow your bathing suit!!

Every woman needs to kick back on a float and relax a little in the summer....

Maybe next time Graham will join in the fun!

Happy 4th of July!

Our plan was to put the babies in the pool for the first time on July 4th but it rained.....and then Graham decided he didn't want to nap....and then it was too late and they needed to go to bed....and so on and so forth. Maybe another day! So, we instead took some pictures...shocker!

Rice cereal...

We started rice cereal last week. Needless to say it was NOT a hit with the Kittle babies! I think the pictures will speak for themselves.....

Here G and EC are the first time we put them in their high chairs...

And here we are last Saturday morning.... I wanted to do the first rice cereal feeding while Eric was home in case I needed help. You never know how these "new things" are going to go over with one baby much less two babies so always have a back up person there to help!

I don't think Graham was a big fan of the spoon....

Or maybe it was the rice cereal.....it doesn't smell too great!

It's getting a little better now. I thickened it up and they seem to like it a lot more now. EC is even opening her mouth ready for her next bite....

32 years old....

That's how old this hat and bonnet are that EC is wearing. They were mine. So, we took a few pictures of course.

Advice.

Eric's aunt forwarded this to me and it was too great not to share! And oh so true!
1. The more time and effort put into decorating a nursery, the more likely that the baby will sleep in your room.
2. Things that don't wake a sleeping newborn: loud noises and bright lights. Things that do wake a sleeping newborn: sitting down to eat dinner.
3. Maybe they'll say it's the eyes. Maybe they'll say it's the mouth. Whatever it is, people will insist on telling you that your newborn looks like you. It's almost never true.
4. You may not want to cut your baby's nails because you are afraid of making her bleed. However, if you don't cut your baby's nails, she will probably scratch herself and, then, she'll bleed. So, why postpone the inevitable?
5. There is no greater thrill than the first time a baby calls out "mama" or "dada," even when it is directed toward the cat.
6. Sleeping a lot and eating a lot are traits highly cherished in babies. Unfortunately, neither are particularly admired in adults.
7. As a new parent, strangers will often approach you to ask, "Is she a good baby?" Surprise them by saying, "No, she's kind of an #$$hole."
8. You will discover that there must have been something very, very tricky about composing a melody for "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star," The ABC's," and "Baa Baa Black Sheep."
9. From the moment you arrive home from the hospital, you will be asked if your baby sleeps through the night. Tell them you don't know. Tell them you spend most nights out clubbing.
10. Make sure you learn all the noises that farm animals make. Even though most people no longer live on farms, the sounds that sheep, pigs and cows make are priority number one when teaching your little one to talk.
11. If she is wearing a nice outfit, it is likely that your baby will poop.
12. If you are wearing a nice outfit, it is likely that your baby will poop.
13. Despite advances in science, no one has figured out how to diagnose a dirty diaper besides sniffing at it or peeking in it. When you're in public, learn to do this discreetly.
14. Never in your wildest dreams (or worst nightmares) did you ever imagine how much you would be talking about poop. Unless you work for a laxative company. If you work for a laxative company, you are probably already talking about poop a lot.
15. Strangers are friendly when you're with with a baby. That said, strangers are even friendlier when you're with a puppy.
16. One of the surprise perks of having a baby? When you're with one, you can talk to yourself out loud and people don't look at you like you're crazy.
17. Everyone tells you to "sleep when the baby's sleeping." It's good advice. But, remember, it's "sleep when the baby's sleeping... unless the baby fell asleep in the car and you're driving."
18. Don't beat yourself up over every little thing. Babies have really low expectations.
19. If you think you might be posting too many pictures on Facebook, you probably are.
20. No matter how much you love your child, naptime is never long enough.
21. When people come to visit in the first weeks after you come home from the hospital, remember they are there to see you and the baby. Remember they don't expect you or your house to look perfect. And remember, if you are talking anywhere near the baby monitor, there's a good chance they can hear you.
22. The secret to being a good parent? There isn't one. Anyone who tells you otherwise is lying.
23. When all else fails, if you can't stop your baby from crying, turn on some music and dance around the living room. Even if the crying doesn't stop, at least you'll enjoy yourself.
